Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited's Overseas Projects in Kenya
In April this year, President Xi Jinping held talks with President Ruto of Kenya, who came to China for a state visit, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, and the two heads of state talked about cooperation.
In recent years, Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited has been actively practicing the initiative of “One Belt, One Road” and implementing the Group's strategy of “Overseas Re-engineering”, and has maintained close and long-term cooperation with Kenya DEVKI Group, the largest steel group in Kenya, and also the largest construction material company in East and Central Africa. Long-term close cooperation. It has built a series of highly influential waste heat power generation projects in Kenya, injecting strong power for local green transformation and sustainable development. The two sides have started their cooperation journey since 2018, and after several years of deep cultivation, they have accumulated profound mutual trust and friendship in the process of jointly promoting the landing of the project.
Cooperation and exchange with DEVKI Group in Kenya

Mr. Meng Qinglin, Chairman of Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited , warmly received Mr. Guru, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kenya DEVKI Group, and his delegation in Jin recently. Afterwards, Mr. Liu Xin, President of Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited , held a discussion with Mr. Guru and his party, in which both sides carried out in-depth exchanges around deepening cooperation, and fully explored topics such as expanding cooperation fields and innovating cooperation modes, so as to promote the cooperation between the two sides to move to a higher level, and continue to write a new chapter of mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation.
NCCL 13.5MW Waste Heat Power Project in Kenya

In 2019, Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited signed the first cement waste heat power generation project with DEVKI Group in Kenya, marking a key breakthrough for Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited in the African market. As an important achievement of deepening cooperation between Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited and local enterprises in Kenya, the project relies on local cement production line, with an installed capacity of 13.5 MW, which can supply power to cement production of more than 90 million kWh per year since grid connection and save about 32,000 tons of standard coal, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emission of about 75,000 tons, which not only significantly reduces the power consumption of cement production equipment and dust content in tail gas, but also provides a model for green transformation of the local cement industry. It not only significantly reduces the electricity consumption of cement production equipment and the dust content of exhaust gas, but also provides a model for the green transformation of the local cement industry, and becomes a landmark project of Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited to promote clean energy utilization in Africa.
Mombasa 55MW Steel Waste Heat + Biomass Power Project, Kenya

This project is a milestone cooperation achievement between Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited and DEVKI Group in the steel field. During the negotiation and execution of the project, both parties worked together to successfully realize the project in the face of challenges such as supply chain obstruction and cross-border collaboration brought about by the epidemic. The project, with an installed capacity of 55MW, is a pioneer in the efficient utilization of waste heat in the local steel industry, generating 44,000,000 kWh of electricity annually, which is equivalent to saving 132,000 tons of standard coal and reducing 351,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. The project not only significantly reduces energy costs for DEVKI Group and enhances the green competitiveness of the company, but also vigorously promotes the transformation of Kenya's iron and steel industry into a low-carbon and sustainable direction.
Kenya MMML 25MW Biomass Power Plant Project
In 2021, Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited and DEVKI Group of Kenya cooperated again in the field of iron and steel industry and signed a 25MW biomass power generation project, which opens up a new type of clean energy supply channel for local industrial production by making full use of the rich local biomass resources to generate electricity, and is of great significance to optimize the energy structure of Kenya. After the completion of the project, it will save 187.5 million kWh of electricity, 56,000 tons of standard coal, and 149,600 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. This not only provides stable green power for the local community and significantly reduces carbon emission, but also promotes the utilization of clean energy in Kenya to a new level, which fully demonstrates Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited's innovative ability and technical strength in international clean energy project cooperation.
DEVKI Steel Mill 10MW Battery Energy Storage Project in Kenya

In 2023,Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited once again joins hands with DEVKI Group in Kenya to open a chapter of cooperation on a 10MW energy storage project, which is an important extension of the long-term cooperation between the two parties in the energy field. This cooperation is an important extension of the long-term cooperation between the two parties in the energy field. After the completion of this energy storage project, it will significantly improve the stability and reliability of the local power supply, effectively cope with the difference between peaks and valleys of energy, and help the Kenyan electric power system to operate more intelligently and efficiently. The project not only provides solid energy protection for the sustainable development of DEVKI Group's industries, but also sets a benchmark for the promotion and application of energy storage technology in Kenya, which promotes the local energy industry to move forward in the direction of more advanced and stable, and further deepens the strategic cooperative relationship between Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited and DEVKI Group.
DEVKI Group 80t/h Biomass Boiler and Air Cooling Conversion Project in Kenya
This project is an important practice of Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited to help the local steel industry to green upgrading. The project is based on the existing steel production line, and through the innovative introduction of a biomass boiler, it effectively reduces the intensity of carbon emission in the production process. At the same time, the air cooler system is completely upgraded to significantly improve the energy recovery efficiency and cooling performance, and the project is currently under commissioning and evaluation. After the completion of the transformation, it can significantly reduce pollutant emissions, optimize the operational efficiency of the production line, significantly reduce production costs, and achieve energy saving and emission reduction and economic benefits of the double enhancement.
SIMBA Cement Plant 10MW Waste Heat + Biomass Power Plant Project in Kenya

At the end of 2024, Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited and DEVKI Group of Kenya joined hands again and signed the general contract of 10MW Waste Heat + Biomass Power Generation Project for SIMBA Cement Plant, and the project is now in the process of construction drawings design, equipment procurement, and on-site civil construction commencement. After the completion of the project, it is expected to achieve electricity saving of 75 million kWh, coal saving of 22,500 tons and carbon reduction of 59,900 tons per year. The project will further explore the potential of waste heat resources of local cement production, optimize the efficiency of energy use, provide green power support for cement production, reduce the cost of electricity for enterprises while reducing the dependence on traditional energy sources, help Kenya's sustainable industrial development, and continue to deepen the partnership between the two sides in the field of clean energy.
